Alex is an avid performer and instructor in the Washington metropolitan area. She earned both a master's and bachelor's degree at the University of Maryland College Park in Music Performance. She is a fluent Spanish speaker and can teach in both English and Spanish. Alex was the children's choir director at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., during which she accompanied her choir, gave them vocal instruction, and led several choir performances. She currently holds annual piano recitals for her students in Olney, MD and performs in a local contemporary ensemble. She has performed extensively as a soloist and chorus member in various prestigious theaters, including the Kennedy Center, Baltimore Lyric Opera House, the Key Theatre and with companies such as the Maryland Opera Studio, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the UMD Symphony Orchestra.​
